In the relatively short time that I have known Rob as a fellow councillor when I was elected in 2019, I found Rob as a generous, straight talking and friendly gentle man. It was a great shock and so cruel that he was taken so suddenly as he was getting his life back together after the sad death of his beloved wife Rosemary in December. He was a man who loved life and his list of hobbies and pastimes showed his love of anything mechanical whether it flew, floated, or ran on wheels. He will be sadly missed as a friend and colleague.
