Robert was a really nice person and I always enjoyed talking to him and his wife Rosemary at various events over the years. He had so many interests conversation was never dull. As a fellow councillor I valued his down to earth, common sense approach to issues, and like many people have particularly fond memories of his time as Mayor, a role he threw himself into wholeheartedly and with enthusiasm.
